Purpose of the Role:
To drive sales by guiding customers through the process of building their new home, from initial enquiry through to contract signing. The New Home Sales Consultant is the first point of contact for prospective clients and is responsible for delivering outstanding customer service while achieving individual and team sales targets.
Key Responsibilities:
Lead Generation & Prospecting
Respond to inbound enquiries and follow up with potential clients promptly.
Build and maintain a strong pipeline through outbound activity including networking, events, marketing, activations, prospecting and referrals.
Work rostered shifts in the showhome and office.
Facilitate house/land packages in coordination with real estate agents and developers.
Client Engagement
Provide exceptional customer service and a great first touchpoint for our brand and company.
Conduct initial consultations to understand client needs, budget, and lifestyle.
Prepare and present home designs, land options, and indicative pricing opportunities to the client. Training in our custom pricing system will provide the New Home Sales Consultant with the skills required to competently complete this aspect of the role. The ability to price will provide advantages to both the New Home Sales Consultant and the Business.
Guide clients through G.J. Gardner’s building process, setting clear expectations on timings, team functions and potential variations. Be the client’s advocate where required.
Provide regular updates and maintain strong communication with clients every step of the way.
Support team members as required to ensure customer satisfaction.
Work closely with in-house designers, estimators, and construction managers.
Ensure smooth handover from sales to construction for client.
Maintain accurate CRM records and sales reporting in Hubspot and GJ5.0.
Maintain professional relationships with relevant suppliers, sub-contractors, trades, staff from other areas and Head Office, as well as other external networks.
It is expected that the New Home Sales Consultant will attend all relevant team meetings and complete scheduled rostered duties.
Key Skills & Attributes:
Proven sales experience, ideally in residential construction or real estate
Excellent communication, interpersonal, and negotiation skills, with the ability to close a sale
Strong customer focus with a passion for helping people
Self-motivated, goal-oriented, and resilient
High attention to detail and process-driven
Proficient with CRM systems and Microsoft Office
Qualifications & Requirements:
Previous experience in a sales or client-facing role (housing industry preferred)
Full New Zealand Driver’s Licence and tidy vehicle
Legal right to work in New Zealand
