We are currently looking for a Quantity Surveyor to oversee a residential project in Kent with a construction firm. This is a fantastic opportunity for a professional individual to become established within a highly regarded construction client based in London but working around Kent. Site based 5 days a week, outside Faversham at the back of Whitstable but expected to attend head office meetings roughly 2-3 times a month in Victoria, London.
The QS role includes:
- Produce and provide accurate forecasts of project cost to completion and final value
- Preparing tender packages for main contractor and subcontract works
- Continually monitor projected costs to completion in line with budget
- Ensure contract variations are identified, valued and turned into agreed variation orders with the customer in a timely manner
- Ensure that each sub-contractor's account is managed strictly in accordance with their terms and conditions
- Vetting tenders
- Facilitate the resolution of disputes relating to outstanding payments to subcontractors and creditors
- Producing monthly contract reports detailing current status of the contracts, including cash flow forecasts and liabilities
- Provide input in construction project commercial/legal/strategic meetings
Candidates must have:
- A full QS accredited qualification
- Extensive experience in Quantity Surveying related to construction
- Experience in administering main contractor or client accounts to final agreement, with a successful run of closures of these accounts with the client
- Knowledge of the residential and construction market
