Padstone Recruitment is currently recruiting for Fire Alarm Engineers for our commercial client in the Kent/Ashford area.

Key Responsibilities:

  • To install, commission, service and fault find the fire systems on customer premises.
  • Awareness and Compliance with code of practice and industry regulations.
  • Ensure wiring duties meet with BS 5839 Part 1, Part 6 and BS 7671 (wiring regulations).
  • Ensure all fire alarm systems are BAFE compliant.
  • Installation of wired and wireless fire alarm systems, in line with specification, drawings and current regulations.
  • Programming of systems to ensure fully operational.
  • Fault diagnosis of existing systems where testing of electrical connections will be required.
  • Adhering to all Health & Safety requirements as detailed within the health and safety management system, risk assessments and method statements.
  • Use of mobile device to receive, update and communicate all tasks assigned to job holder.
  • Ensure company vehicle is kept clean, tidy and presentable at all times and in line with company fleet requirements.
  • Wear and maintain all issued uniform clothing ensuring that it is clean and presentable at all times.
  • Attend all mandatory training (Health & Safety, Fire, Asbestos, Working at Height etc) that has been arranged.
  • Be responsible for keeping updated on changes in industry for working with electricity to maintain competence.
  • Maintain a positive and professional attitude towards customers, colleagues and third parties at all times and undertake all tasks as appropriate.
  • To work at all times in accordance with company policies, procedures and ethos.

Hours: 45 hours per week. Overtime available if desired. Site-based (predominantly East Kent).
