About the role
Lead our dive operation as the Dive Shop Manager and Lead Instructor, splitting time between land‑based management and in‑water guiding/instruction. You’ll be the senior operational decision‑maker for the dive shop (reporting to the resort GM), responsible for safety, guest experience, staffing, equipment, and daily logistics.
Compensation & Benefits

- $200 USD per week + guest gratuities
- 20% commission on courses
- Employer‑sponsored work visa and bond provided (bond repayment required if employment ends before one year)
- PADI dues paid after 1 year of employment
Key Responsibilities
- Operations: Oversee daily dive/snorkel operations — boats, tanks, equipment, safety gear, SOP compliance, emergency response, and independent operational decisions (weather, guest ability). Maintain O2/first‑aid kits.
- Lead certified divers and snorkelers, teach scuba courses and Discover Scuba Diving (DSD) experiences, and actively promote and sell dive/snorkel courses and excursions to guests.
- Oversee boat and engine maintenance schedules, ensure regular servicing and record‑keeping, and maintain compliance with local government inspections and audits.
- Guest experience: Coordinate with sales/front desk from booking to post‑visit feedback, resolve guest issues, track daily sales and activity.
- Team leadership: Recruit, train, schedule, and manage instructors, DMs, and captains; run regular team briefings and safety trainings.
- Equipment & admin: Manage equipment distribution, maintenance, inventory, student and staff records, liability releases, etc.
- Marketing: Capture quality above‑ and below‑water images and contribute to dive/snorkel social media and marketing.
- Community & suppliers: Maintain supplier relationships and positive local engagement.
Working Conditions
- Six‑day work week (approx. 7:00–16:00; seasonal variations).
- Opportunity for evening “sundowners” guest time for sales of DSDs/courses.
- Quiet, remote island environment.
Required Qualifications
- PADI MSDT, minimum 500 logged dives.
- EFR Instructor & O2 Provider Instructor.
- Nitrox Instructor
- Up‑to‑date Rescue Diver instruction and strong safety mindset.
- Professional English (additional languages a plus).
- Prior experience in Fiji or the South Pacific.
- Strong leadership, communication, organizational skills, and cultural adaptability.
Preferred Qualifications
- Skilled underwater photographer.
- Social media/marketing experience.
