PadelX is looking for a Club Manager & Coach to lead the day-to-day operation and growth of our three-court club at The Royal Agricultural University in Cirencester.
The courts are open. Our focus now is building the club around them: welcoming new players, creating regular activity, growing membership and making better use of court time throughout the week.
This is a hands-on role combining club management, community development and time on court. You will be the local face of PadelX Cirencester, taking responsibility for how the club operates on a day-today basis, and helping players progress from their first session into regular play and the wider coaching player pathway.
What you’ll do
- Keep the club safe, clean, welcoming and well presented, with appropriate opening, closing and site security arrangements.
- Identify and carry out suitable routine maintenance, coordinate contractors and suppliers, and escalated defects or safety concerns promptly.
- Welcome players, resolve day-to-day queries and build relationships that encourage people to return.
- Deliver Free Intro to Padel and other approved introductory or social sessions within your qualifications and the PadelX coaching framework.
- Organise Americanos, open matches, socials and other activities that help players find games and play regularly.
- Work with our specialist coaching partner to connect players with suitable group coaching, coached matchplay and individual lessons.
- Build relationships with RAU students and staff, local families, schools, businesses and community groups.
- Grow court utilisation, revenue and active membership, with particular attention to quieter playing periods.
- Review booking patterns and player feedback, and report performance, risks and opportunities to the Operations Director.
- Work within PadelX systems, policies and standards, and support local marketing and club events.
About you
You are organised, approachable and commercially minded. You enjoy helping people discover padel, bringing players together and taking ownership of a club’s day-to-day operation. You can work independently, manage competing priorities and identify practical ways to increase participation and bookings.
Experience in coaching, sport, leisure, hospitality, membership or community development would be valuable. You will need to work flexibly around club activity, including evenings and weekends.
Ideally, you will already hold a current First Aid certificate, safeguarding training, an enhanced DBS check and LTA coaching qualifications, including Intro to Padel Coaching and Level 2. If you do not yet hold all of these, PadelX will arrange and fund the relevant training and enrolments. You will deliver coaching sessions once you have completed the requirements for those sessions.
