# Sub-Assembly TechnicianAston Martin Formula One TeamSilverstone, United KingdomPosted 7 Oct 2026## About this roleWe are looking for a Sub-Assembly Technician to join our F1 Evolution team, Aston Martin Aramco Formula One Team’s TPC/heritage programme.F1 Evolution plays a unique role within the wider F1 environment, supporting the preparation, testing, and operation of previous and heritage F1 cars, alongside demonstration and event programmes. As a Sub Assembly Technician, you will play a key role in the assembly, commissioning, servicing, and maintenance of precision sub-assemblies across F1 Evolution projects, working to exacting specifications and quality standards to ensure components are delivered on time, to design intent, and to the highest standards of performance and reliability. Working with a degree of autonomy alongside the Chief Mechanic and Senior/Lead Engineers, you will support projects from initial assembly through to commissioning, testing, and ongoing maintenance, collaborating across departments to resolve technical challenges, maintain accurate build and traceability records, and ensure assemblies are ready to meet project requirements.Key Responsibilities- Assemble, service, commission, and repair sub-assemblies and vehicle systems, including hydraulic systems where required.- Deliver assemblies to design intent, required specifications, and agreed standards of quality, performance, reliability, and timing.- Interpret and work accurately from technical drawings, procedures, and build instructions.- Maintain accurate build records, component traceability, and service documentation.- Support projects from initial assembly through commissioning, testing, maintenance, and off-site events, ensuring assemblies are available when required.- Champion best-practice cleanliness, assembly standards, and a safe, clean, and organised working environment.- Communicate technical issues, risks, and problems through the appropriate processes and systems.- Maintain associated rigs, tooling, and equipment, ensuring they remain fit for purpose.- Support workload requirements outside core hours, including travel to UK and international testing or project events as required.Skills, Knowledge and Expertise- Proven experience working within anF1 or high-performance motorsport environment.- Strong experience in the assembly, servicing, commissioning and repair of vehicle systems and mechanical sub-assemblies.- Experience of precision assembly techniques and interpretation of engineering drawings.- Experience of maintaining build records, component traceability and product documentation.- Good knowledge of hydraulic systems and components would be advantageous.- Strong understanding of engineering principles, assembly techniques, and best practices utilised within Formula One or equivalent industries.- Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.- Excellent communication and organisational skills, with a professional and respectful approach.- Proficiency with relevant business and engineering software systems.- Self-motivated, proactive, and committed to continuous improvement.- Sound decision-making and engineering judgement when resolving technical issues.- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a flexible and practical approach.- Ability to consistently deliver high-quality work within demanding timescales and under pressure.- Clear understanding of, and commitment to, Health & Safety.- Willingness and ability to travel within the UK and internationally as required.BenefitsInvesting in your career is paramount.
