At Paddl our mission is to simplify the reinstatement of properties after damage. As an FCA regulated Loss Assessors, we work for our clients to provide an exemplary claims management and property reinstatement service. When your property has been damaged, we take the stress out of the claims process, from mitigation and assessment of damage, to managing the claims process and professionally reinstating your property.
The Role
Based in London you will be the go-to person for surveying, claims management, and contractor management. You’ll provide our network of introducers (letting agents, building managers and homeowners) a first class experience throughout the claims process. You will be a strong negotiator with a comprehensive understanding of the insurance landscape and the world of property repairs. You will take an initial property incident (an escape of water, fire, flood or other damage), produce detailed inspection reports, raise an insurance claim and negotiate with insurers on site to get to great client outcomes. In doing this you will require an understanding of property construction, estimates for repairs and the insurance process. You will, of course, be provided with training from Paddl’s experienced surveying and claims handling team and provided compliance modules. This role will require working from client offices and site visits to impacted properties. You will be required to travel around the Edinburgh region with some expansion requiring travel to sites in Glasgow and Fife. You will also work from home for a portion of the week.
What You’ll Do
- Be the first responder to property emergencies, assessing damage and managing the immediate aftermath following damage.
- Have a detailed eye, surveying properties, to produce detailed scopes of work - our tech platform will help you curate these reports.
- You will be the on-site conduit with insurers and their representatives, playing a lead role in claim negotiations.
- Liaise with tenants, property owners and building managers, keeping them informed of the claims process and the reinstatement works.
- Orchestrate repair programmes with our skilled contractors, ensuring timely, budget-friendly, and top-notch results.
- Build and nurture relationships with clients, spreading the word about our services.
- You will schedule and participate in quarterly on-site client (Letting Agent) training to ensure that awareness and adoption of our services is maximised.
- You will lead business development for your region, learning the business value proposition and becoming fluent in articulating Paddl’s services.
- You will drive regional operations managing staff and business processes to enable effective delivery.
What We’re Looking For
The ideal candidate will:
- Have a good understanding of the construction of domestic buildings.
- Be comfortable in a construction environment and have a good understanding of property repairs and contractor management.
- Experienced in property management, maintenance and ideally property insurance claims handling.
- Understand the nature of building insurance, comfortable supporting homeowners and being the driving force when negotiating with insurers.
- Be a tech-savvy individual with strong IT skills with an eye for detail - able to formulate coherent reports.
- Have experience of client management.
- Hold a full and valid UK driving license.
The role will require a full DBS check prior to commencing the role.
