Policy Assistant

Salary circa £29,000 - £31,000 pro rata plus pension and benefits.

Part-time, permanent position (three days a week) – based in the Pact London office/Hybrid

Pact is the highly successful and influential UK screen sector trade body which represents and supports independent production and distribution companies. We deliver a range of business services as well as being an effective political lobby on behalf of our members.

We wish to appoint a Policy Assistant in a part-time role, based at our office in London, to provide administrative support to the Policy team.

The ideal candidate will have excellent administration skills. Understanding of policy is also desirable as this will be a key part of the role.

About the role

Pact’s policy team play a key part in the highly effective lobbying and campaigning activities that the organisation carries out on behalf of UK independent producers. Our aim is always to achieve the best economic, regulatory and legislative environment for our members to do business in.

We’re looking for a proactive and personable Policy Assistant to join our small, collaborative team. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys working across different policy areas, thrives in a fast-paced environment, and is keen to contribute to our policy and public affairs work. You’ll support policy development, stakeholder engagement, and internal coordination, helping us stay organised and responsive.

The key responsibilities of the role include:

1. Provide administrative support for Pact’s policy, public affairs and communications functions

2. Support with political research

3. Support team particularly on website and news update work

4. Support with parliamentary/regulatory/ industry monitoring

5. Help organise Pact events and meetings liaising with CEO diary manager as required

Person Specification:

Essential

- Previous administrative experience is essential

- Ability to write clearly for different stakeholder groups

- A collaborative working style and a friendly, approachable manner

- Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritise effectively

- Ability to work under pressure and to deadlines

- Research skills

- Project management

- Comfortable using digital tools ( Trello, Word, Powerpoint Excel)
