About the Role

We are looking for a proactive, experienced, and people-focused HR Consultant to provide hands-on HR support to the two founders and help develop and strengthen our people processes as the business continues to grow.

This role will act as a trusted HR partner to the founders, providing practical advice and support across the full employee lifecycle, including recruitment, onboarding, employee relations, performance management, policies, compliance, and employee development.

The ideal candidate will have strong knowledge of UK employment practices, excellent interpersonal skills, and experience working with SMEs or founder-led businesses. They should be comfortable working independently, handling sensitive matters with discretion, and providing commercially practical HR advice.

Responsibilities

  • Provide guidance on employee relations, performance, conduct, absence, grievances, and other people-related matters.
  • Develop, review, and maintain HR policies, procedures, contracts, and employee documentation.
  • Ensure HR practices remain compliant with current UK employment legislation and best practices.
  • Support the founders with recruitment, including job descriptions, candidate selection, interviews, and offers.
  • Develop and maintain a professional and effective employee onboarding process.
  • Support probation reviews, performance management, appraisals, and employee development.
  • Assist with managing employee relations matters fairly, consistently, and professionally.
  • Provide advice and support on employee performance, disciplinary processes, and workplace issues.
  • Maintain accurate and confidential employee records and HR documentation.
  • Work with payroll and external HR/legal advisers where required.
  • Help identify training and development needs across the business.
  • Support initiatives that improve employee engagement, communication, retention, and company culture.
  • Help establish clear roles, responsibilities, expectations, and people processes as the company grows.
  • Keep the founders informed of key HR issues, risks, and upcoming requirements.
  • Provide practical recommendations to improve the overall employee experience and effectiveness of the business.

Qualifications

  • Proven experience in an HR advisory, HR consultancy, or generalist HR role.
  • Strong understanding of UK employment law and HR best practices.
  • Experience handling employee relations, performance management, and workplace issues.
  • Experience developing and implementing HR policies and processes.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build trust with employees and senior leadership.
  • Strong organisational skills and attention to detail.
  • High level of discretion, confidentiality, and professional integrity.
  • Self-starter with the ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities.
  • Commercially minded with the ability to provide practical, business-focused HR advice.
  • Experience supporting SMEs, growing businesses, or founder-led organisations is preferred.
  • CIPD qualification or equivalent HR experience preferred
  • Proficient in Turkish Language
