You will work on-site to transform schematic designs into fully functioning environments, ensuring all hardware, cabling, and infrastructure meet structural and technical standards. The ideal candidate would need to live within commutable distance to Basingstoke in order to collect hardware prior to installations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Physical Installation: Mount large-format displays, interactive whiteboards, projectors, and LED video walls securely to various wall types.
  • Cabling & Containment: Pull, terminate, and test structured cabling (Cat5e/6/6A, HDMI, fiber, and audio lines). Install neat containment solutions including trunking, conduit, and floor boxes.
  • Rack Building: Build, wire, and dress central AV equipment racks cleanly and logically, ensuring proper ventilation, labeling, and cable management.
  • Hardware Setup: Position and connect microphones, speakers, amplifiers, and video conferencing hardware (e.g., Logitech, Poly, Yealink).
  • Commissioning: Load pre-written configurations onto control systems (Crestron, Extron) and test signal flows to ensure the system is fully operational before handover.
  • On-Site Safety: Maintain a clean, safe working environment, strictly adhering to site RAMS (Risk Assessments and Method Statements).

Requirements and Qualifications

  • Experience: Proven experience working on-site as an AV Installer or Electrician's mate within commercial or corporate environments.
  • Technical Skills: Proficiency in termination techniques (RJ45, XLR, BNC, soldering) and ability to read and interpret AV schematic diagrams.
  • Site Cards (Essential): Valid ECS (Electrotechnical Certification Scheme) or CSCS card to allow access to construction sites.
  • Safety Training: PASMA (scaffolding towers) and IPAF (cherry pickers/scissor lifts) certifications are highly desirable.
  • Physical Fitness: Capability to handle heavy lifting, manual tasks, and working at heights comfortably.
  • Driving Licence: Full, clean UK driving licence is mandatory for operating the company service vehicles.
