Job Title Senior IT Asset Analyst Job Description Pacific Life Re seeks to develop a comprehensive IT Asset Management (ITAM) Program. We are hiring an experienced Senior IT Asset Management Analyst responsible for managing digital technology assets across the enterprise, including hardware, software, cloud, SaaS, etc. This role requires experience in Software Asset Management (SAM) and Hardware Asset Management (HAM) and related functions covering the asset life cycle. Goals and Responsibilities Collaborate with team members to enhance awareness of ITAM processes and policies within the IT department and broader business through stakeholder communication and education. Develop and maintain global business programs and processes. Design, develop, and review reports to monitor compliance, liability, and budgetary data for software and hardware assets. Analyze exception data to identify potential policy breaches; investigate license compliance issues or shelfware and provide remediation options. Ensure the accuracy and timeliness of asset data by coordinating with data/asset owners as needed. Manage the software support and maintenance renewal process to ensure timely payments in accordance with contractual commitments and avoid fees or penalties. Identify opportunities for cost savings through unallocated licenses or equipment, alternative support options, rationalization, optimal licensing, and hardware deployment practices. Provide licensing consultancy to the project management office and enterprise architecture and support teams. Monitor changes to license terms and conditions, inform stakeholders of relevant licensing updates, and arrange briefings as necessary. Support vendor audit activities, including presenting audit findings to executives. Serve as a primary contact for escalations related to SAM/HAM activities. Maintain accurate data collection, storage, and maintenance for all in-scope software in the asset repository. Track software titles throughout their lifecycle and report software compliance positions. Reconcile lifecycle data relating to software and hardware assets and the asset tracking system accurately and timely. Track software entitlement and maintenance data to support refresh and end-of-life processes; resolve discrepancies to maintain software asset data integrity. Prepare and distribute predefined and ad-hoc reports and recommend cost-effective hardware and software alternatives. Identify and report potential issues with asset tracking tools and supporting systems. Skills & Experience 5+ years of Software and Hardware Asset Management experience with a bachelor\’s degree or 7+ years of equivalent experience. Knowledge of license models and usage rules for software publishers such as Microsoft, Adobe, IBM, Oracle, Citrix, Amazon, etc. Understanding of IT asset management policies, procedures, and best practices. Experience using SAM solutions like Flexera, ServiceNow, Aspera, etc. Proficiency with ITSM system ServiceNow. Familiarity with End Point Management and inventory tools like SCCM, InTune, UEM, etc. Moderate to advanced skills in MS Excel, PowerBi, and similar tools. Ability to analyze complex software entitlement and usage data and present results to business leaders. Experience working in a Managed Services environment. 3+ years of hands-on experience managing a SAM tool and practice. Strong analytical, organizational, and interpersonal skills. Effective collaboration and communication skills aimed at delivering a positive customer experience. Proven history in integrating Quality Assurance concepts into ITAM programs. Ability to collaborate, build relationships, and influence individuals at all levels in a matrixed management environment.
