The MVP, Global Chief Underwriting and Claims Officer, Protection is a key leader at Pacific Life Re, responsible for the global performance of Underwriting and Claims teams and participating in the Global Protection Executive Committee (GPEC). The role involves overseeing the protection line of business across markets, ensuring high-quality decision-making aligned with the company's risk appetite, and promoting best practices in underwriting and claims management.
You will set the global vision for underwriting and claims, lead development initiatives, and be the global lead for predictive underwriting and modelling projects. Additionally, you will contribute to the global protection strategy and be a part of the Pacific Life Re Leadership Team.
Key Responsibilities- Provide leadership for the global underwriting and claims function, setting strategies and policies.
- Ensure a strong global community and technical oversight in underwriting and claims management.
- Maintain governance and risk management practices.
- Promote continuous improvement and a strong risk culture.
- Develop and implement the global protection strategy in collaboration with GPEC.
- Work with analytics teams to develop strategies related to underwriting, claims, and technology solutions.
- Enhance the Pacific Life Re brand within the industry.
- Minimum 10 years of experience in life (re)insurance underwriting and/or claims across multiple markets.
- Strong influencer and communicator with leadership experience.
- Proven track record in strategic change management and client relationship building.
- Deep understanding of risk frameworks and controls.
