Role Summary
The Cost Control Assistant supports the Head of Cost Control in managing and optimizing vessel‑related costs, with a strong focus on direct billing contracts, expense monitoring, and supplier management. The role contributes to cost efficiency by analysing data, ensuring contract compliance, and supporting negotiations to strengthen commercial outcomes.
Responsibilities
- Contract Management & Compliance
- Assist in managing and validating direct billing contracts to ensure accuracy and compliance.
- Monitor contract adherence internally and externally, ensuring all parties comply with agreed terms and conditions.
- Work closely with Contract Management and Risk Management teams to ensure legal and regulatory compliance.
- Cost Monitoring & Analysis
- Monitor and analyse port‑related expenses to identify variances, trends, and potential overspending.
- Perform data analysis to identify cost drivers and improvement opportunities.
- Support the development of cost control strategies through data‑driven insights.
- Cost Optimization
- Identify and support new direct billing opportunities in collaboration with regional stakeholders.
- Contribute to cost‑saving initiatives by reviewing existing processes and supplier arrangements.
- Build and maintain effective relationships with suppliers and vendors to enhance cost efficiency.
- Support coordination and communication with internal stakeholders (e.g., regional managers, operations teams).
- Negotiation Support
- Assist in the preparation and coordination of negotiations for direct billing and agency contracts.
- Support contract discussions with a focus on achieving cost‑effective outcomes.
Skills Capabilities & Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Business, Maritime Studies, or related discipline.
