As part of our ongoing development, we are seeking a dynamic and experienced Chartering Manager to join our team.
What we are looking for:
- An ambitious Chartering professional with a strong commercial mindset and a proven ability to outperform the market.
- Responsibility for trading our core fleet in the spot market, actively securing cargo coverage, and chartering-in and operating tonnage as required.
- Ability to develop, manage, and strengthen long-term relationships with customers and brokers, while actively expanding the client base.
- High attention to detail, with full commercial and financial responsibility for fixtures and voyage execution, including the negotiation of robust and protective contractual terms.
- A well-organised, proactive individual who thrives in a fast-paced, high-performance environment.
- Strong discipline in following internal systems, protocols, data entry requirements, and risk management procedures.
Skills Capabilities Qualifications:
- Chartering professional with minimum 3 years’ international chartering/broking experience.
- Knowledge of demand and supply trends for cargoes, particularly in Atlantic region.
- A thorough understanding of the operational practices, policies and strategies of international ship chartering.
- Previous experience with maritime business software systems such as IMOS and Shipfix.
- Ability to build strong relationships with customers, brokers and other key industry stakeholders.
Attributes / Personality:
- Excellent communication skills, English language proficiency is essential. Further language skills are an advantage.
- Eligible to work in the United Kingdom.
