Pacific Basin is one of the world’s leading owners and operators of modern Handysize and Supramax dry bulk ships. We are listed in Hong Kong and operate globally with a fleet of over 250 ships trading worldwide. Our team comprises about 4,300 seafarers and over 400 shore staff in 14 key locations around the world.

Main area of focus: Mediterranean Sea and Continental Areas

As part of our ongoing development, we are seeking a dynamic and experienced Chartering Manager to join our team.

What we are looking for:

  • An ambitious Chartering professional with a strong commercial mindset and a proven ability to outperform the market.
  • Responsibility for trading our core fleet in the spot market, actively securing cargo coverage, and chartering-in and operating tonnage as required.
  • Ability to develop, manage, and strengthen long-term relationships with customers and brokers, while actively expanding the client base.
  • High attention to detail, with full commercial and financial responsibility for fixtures and voyage execution, including the negotiation of robust and protective contractual terms.
  • A well-organised, proactive individual who thrives in a fast-paced, high-performance environment.
  • Strong discipline in following internal systems, protocols, data entry requirements, and risk management procedures.

Skills Capabilities Qualifications:

  • Chartering professional with minimum 3 years’ international chartering/broking experience.
  • Knowledge of demand and supply trends for cargoes, particularly in Atlantic region.
  • A thorough understanding of the operational practices, policies and strategies of international ship chartering.
  • Previous experience with maritime business software systems such as IMOS and Shipfix.
  • Ability to build strong relationships with customers, brokers and other key industry stakeholders.

Attributes / Personality:

  • Excellent communication skills, English language proficiency is essential. Further language skills are an advantage.
  • Eligible to work in the United Kingdom.
