Pacer Studio is a unified commerce agency. We work with ambitious Shopify merchants to build, grow and future-proof their commerce operations - not as a collection of services, but as a connected system designed from the data layer up.
Our work spans four areas:
- GROW: our embedded expertise retainer covering insights, design, development and experimentation;
- BUILD: structured builds and migrations designed as systems, not surfaces, ready for human and agentic commerce;
- SCHEMA: product data audit, restructure and enrichment so merchants are discoverable by LLMs and agentic surfaces;
- Sküs: our Shopify-native, AI-enabled PIM app built to enrich product data and syndicate it to every downstream channel.
We're hiring a Client Solutions Lead - the person who sits at the intersection of Shopify product expertise, operational strategy, and commercial leadership. You'll be the senior counterpart to each client's Head of Ecom: the person who knows the platform inside out, understands their business deeply, owns the roadmap, and makes sure our team is always working on the right things.
You're the person who looks at a client's business and immediately starts identifying where the growth is being left on the table - whether that's in the funnel, the product data, the retention stack, the experiment roadmap, or the platform setup. You know how to prioritise those opportunities commercially, and you know how to use Shopify's full product suite to act on them. Then you keep Pacer's specialist team pointed at the right problems, and you own the client relationship while you do it.
THE ROLE
Your core responsibility is making sure every client has a clear commercial frame - and that everything Pacer does flows from it. Underpinning all of it is a command of the Shopify platform that lets you advise with confidence.
- Shopify Platform Mastery: You know Shopify end-to-end. Admin, Markets, B2B, POS, Checkout extensibility, Flow, the app ecosystem, theme architecture, data layer. When a client asks "can Shopify do this?", you don't need to check. Your platform knowledge is what makes your strategic advice credible.
- Commercial Intake: Before any discovery or delivery work begins, you run a structured commercial intake with every new client. Revenue vs plan, growth model, highest-value segment, off-platform constraints, board priorities. These outputs orient the whole team before they start - ensuring we work on the right lever, not just the loudest one.
- Roadmap Ownership: You own the strategic roadmap for each client. Setting the quarterly commercial bet, knowing what we're not doing and why, and defending prioritisation decisions commercially.
- Delivery Operations: You keep our specialist team focused and unblocked - making sure priorities are clear, context is shared, and cross-stream conflicts surface early. You're the connective tissue between strategy and execution.
WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR
- You know Shopify deeply - not just as a merchant user, but as someone who understands the full product: admin, Markets, B2B, POS, Checkout, Flow, the app ecosystem, theme architecture. When a client asks if Shopify can do something, you have an answer.
- You've run strategy for a DTC or ecommerce brand - internally or at an agency - and you can point to commercial outcomes you drove, not just work you delivered.
- You're confident in a senior client conversation. You can push back on a brief, reframe a problem, and get the client to a better place than where they started.
- You understand the operational reality of running a DTC brand - fulfilment, returns logic, discount structures, cross-border, margin pressure. Platform advice without operational context isn't advice, it's guesswork.
- You have exceptional communication skills - "buy in" to your solutions will ride on your storytelling ability. You can demonstrate client context and comprehension of the problem we're solving for the client and the audience.
- You understand the full commercial picture of a Shopify business - contribution margin, LTV, payback period, channel mix, returns impact. Platform decisions and growth decisions are the same decision. You treat them that way.
THIS PROBABLY ISN'T THE RIGHT ROLE IF...
- Your Shopify knowledge is surface-level. This role requires genuine depth - you need to understand what the platform can and can't do before making recommendations, not after.
- You want to be an executor. The CSL owns the strategic frame - if you're most comfortable when someone else sets the direction, this will be frustrating.
- Your background is purely project management or traffic management at an agency.
Interested? Send a short note on your background, the work you're most proud of (including impact), and why this role makes sense for you right now.
