Overview

We are seeking a hardworking and reliable Junior Office Administrator to join our team supporting railway projects.

This is an entry-level position suited to someone who is organised, eager to learn, and confident using Microsoft Office, particularly Excel.

The successful candidate will provide day-to-day administrative support to ensure the smooth running of the office.

Responsibilities

  • Provide general administrative support to the office and project teams.
  • Maintain accurate records and filing systems, both electronic and paper-based.
  • Input, update, and maintain data using Microsoft Excel and other Microsoft Office applications.
  • Prepare spreadsheets, reports, and documents as required.
  • Answer telephone calls, respond to emails, and direct enquiries appropriately.
  • Scan, print, copy, and file project documentation.
  • Assist with document control and ensure records are up to date.
  • Schedule meetings and maintain office calendars where required.
  • Order office supplies and maintain stock levels.
  • Support the wider team with general administrative duties and other tasks as required.

Requirements

  • Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office, particularly Excel, Word, and Outlook.
  • Strong organisational skills and excellent attention to detail.
  • Good communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and work to deadlines.
  • Reliable, punctual, and hardworking with a positive attitude.
  • Willingness to learn and develop within the business.

Desirable

  • Previous office administration experience (preferred but not essential).
  • Experience working in a construction, engineering, or railway environment is beneficial but not required.
