The predicted salary is between 22 - 23 £ per hour.
We are seeking to appoint a casual governance professional to provide capacity to support the governance of our small trust of 4 primary schools in the Coulsdon area of Croydon and in Mitcham, Merton.
Our existing governance professional provides support to our 4 school Local Governing Bodies and to the PACE Board of Trustees and its committees. On occasion we need some additional capacity, in particular, when there are processes such as panel hearings which require clerking support. We are looking for someone who is interested in being employed on a casual basis to enable us to ask for support as and when it is needed.
In addition, we are embarking on a project to move our governance groups from using one governance database to using Governor Hub and we may need some additional support to make this transition during summer term 2026.
We welcome applications from those who have experience of clerking whether in education or comparable roles. You will be someone happy working under your own initiative with some work completed remotely from home.
You will work on an occasional basis to support our governing bodies in Croydon and Merton. The majority of the local governing meetings and trustee meetings are held in the schools in the early evenings although some meetings are held online. You would be expected to be able to establish a rapport with both school leaders and volunteers who work for free as governors or trustees.
The contract will be based on a zero hours basis as this appointment is for a casual governance professional to provide occasional support. The hourly rate of pay will be £22.90. (This is based on a Full Time Equivalent Salary of £38,356, NJC spinal point 23. The hourly rate includes holiday pay.)
