Role: We are seeking an experienced M&A/Growth Project Manager to support a leading law firm through a period of strategic growth. This role will be pivotal in managing the pipeline of M&A opportunities, shaping decision‑making processes, and translating strategic decisions into structured, executable integration programmes of work. You will work closely with the Managing Partner and Executive team to ensure that each deal moves from concept to reality, seamlessly and effectively.
What you’ll do:
- Manage and track the pipeline of M&A opportunities, ensuring visibility and readiness for decision‑making
- Support the Executive team in evaluating potential deals, preparing decision frameworks, and coordinating due diligence activities
- Translate strategic decisions into structured integration programmes, with clear milestones, governance, and delivery plans
- Lead cross‑functional teams to execute integration activities across legal, operational, cultural, and technology domains
- Act as the primary liaison between the Managing Partner and delivery teams, ensuring alignment and clarity of purpose
- Develop and maintain integration roadmaps, RAID logs, and change management plans
- Facilitate regular programme reviews and provide clear, concise reporting to senior stakeholders
- Identify and mitigate risks associated with integration, ensuring business continuity and cultural alignment
- Support post‑merger evaluation and benefits realisation
- Prepare and manage project budgets, tracking expenditure against forecast and controlling any necessary Change Orders
- Identify resource requirements and timings for the core central teams
- Facilitate regular project meetings and produce clear, concise status reporting
- Manage change and communications to ensure successful project delivery
The successful M&A Project Manager will be able to demonstrate:
- Proven experience in M&A integration within professional services, ideally legal sector
- Strong understanding of the M&A lifecycle and integration best practices
- Ability to work closely with Executive stakeholders and translate strategic intent into delivery
- Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills
- Experience managing complex programmes with multiple workstreams
- Proficiency in project and programme management tools (e.g. MS Project, Asana, Jira)
- A proactive, structured, and delivery‑focused mindset
- Experience in legal sector integrations
- Familiarity with cultural integration and change management approaches
- Degree or qualification in business, law, or project management
