QUANTITY SURVEYOR | GROWING MAIN CONTRACTOR | DAGENHAM A very exciting and growing construction main contractor are seeking a Quantity Surveyor. The Quantity Surveyor will be joining an company who operate in the right way with progression who are a medium size company. The Quantity Surveyor will be assisting the Commercial Manager on a £10m project in Dagenham. Quantity Surveyor Duties: * Undertakes the monthly valuations and assessments for Sub-Contract accounts they are responsible for. * Negotiates competitive variation costs/savings. * Issuing Payment certificates in line with requirements and deadlines, and issues these in a timely fashion. * Can produce interim statement of accounts and estimated final cost forecast. * Can update cashflow documents. * Assist with the Procurement process, independently procuring smaller packages. * Understand our obligations with regards to issuing Payment certificates in line with the construction act and issues these in a timely fashion. * Can collate & draft small works orders and issue for commercial team to review. * Familiarising themselves with the collation and drafting of larger Sub-Contracts for the Commercial Manager to check. * Contract administration of Sub-Contracts. * Attends and inputs positively into post tender/bid meetings with the Supply chain. * Chairs Variations and account review meetings with the supply chain for packages they are responsible for. Seeking advice from commercial team on larger more complex accounts and variations. * Communicates well with Construction management team to understand progression onsite and to assist with valuing change. * Input into the monthly client valuation process. * Ability to use project software and commercial ASITE processes. * Can undertake take offs and measure checks using appropriate methodology (i.e., Bluebeam, ASITE or off drawings). Assists with take offs and measuring for the site commercial team during both procurement and project delivery. Quantity Surveyor Skills: * Strong financial skills and commercial acumen * Can collate and pull together Sub-Contract documentation. * Follows and utilises commercial management sheets to ensure effectives project delivery and understands the roles that these play in successful commercial management. * Communicates well with Clients, Designers and Sub-Contractors. Develops and maintains client relationships. * Maintains good working relationship with supply chain whilst maintaining authority and commercial control of accounts. * Follows and utilises commercial management sheets to ensure effectives project delivery and understands the roles that these play in successful commercial management. * Interacts with Commercial Manager to keep them abreast of project status and performance. * Strong negotiation skills * Ensures PQQ process is adhered too.
