Health & Safety Manager | Central London | Construction Fit Out
Are you a proactive Health & Safety professional eager to make your mark in the construction sector? We are recruiting on behalf of a leading organisation for a Health & Safety Manager to play a pivotal role in promoting safe working practices across multiple sites. Based in Central London with regular travel across the South East, this role offers variety, responsibility, and the chance to influence health & safety culture across a range of projects. You ll be central to driving compliance, engaging teams, and ensuring high standards are maintained at all times.
Responsibilities
- Carry out regular site inspections and audits to ensure compliance with health & safety legislation, company standards, and industry best practice.
- Review a sample of contractor risk assessments and method statements (RAMS) for suitability and effectiveness.
- Investigate incidents and near misses, producing detailed reports with clear corrective and preventative actions.
- Maintain accurate records of inspections, incidents, and training activities.
- Work closely with site managers, subcontractors, and clients to foster a strong health & safety culture.
- Support the H&S team with data collection, KPI monitoring, and trend analysis.
- Assist in the delivery of training sessions and health & safety presentations.
- Provide ad-hoc out-of-hours and weekend support when required.
- Contribute to the review and updating of H&S documentation, policies, and procedures.
- Support the retention of key company accreditations including ISO 45001, RoSPA, Constructionline Platinum, Once For All SSIP, and SafeContractor SSIP.
Requirements
- NEBOSH National Certificate in Construction Health and Safety
- Technical Membership of IOSH (Tech IOSH)
- SMSTS (Site Management Safety Training Scheme)
- First Aid at Work Certification
- Full UK Driving Licence and access to your own vehicle
- Up to 3 years\’ experience in the construction industry, ideally within interior fit-out projects
