An established construction business is seeking an experienced Senior Quantity Surveyor / Commercial Manager to take commercial ownership of an £8m commercial refurbishment project. This is a hands-on role covering pre-construction through to completion, with significant externals, roofing, façade and refurbishment works alongside CAT A office fit-out.
Key responsibilities:
- Review designs and existing conditions to establish the required scope of works
- Build accurate budgets and costs during the pre-construction phase
- Take full commercial control once the project moves into construction
- Prepare tender packages and assess subcontractor returns
- Select and recommend subcontractors and place purchase orders
- Manage variations, valuations, payments and cost reporting
- Review and administer the main contract
- Work closely with the Project Manager and wider site team
Experience required:
- Senior QS / Commercial Manager background within construction
- Strong commercial refurbishment and externals experience
- Proven knowledge of roofing, façades and building construction
- D&B commercial office / CAT A fit-out experience
- Comfortable being fully site-based and owning the project commercially
