Security Officer – Retail, Healthcare & Events Company: Pace Protection & Training Ltd Job Type: Full-Time / Part-Time / Bank & Ad-Hoc Opportunities Pay: Competitive – dependent on assignment Locations: Various sites across Kent, London and surrounding areas Shifts: Days, nights, weekends and event work available About the Role Pace Protection & Training Ltd is looking to recruit professional, reliable and confident SIA Licensed Security Officers to join our growing team. We provide security services across a range of environments, including retail premises, healthcare and hospital sites, and events. Successful applicants may be offered assignments across different locations depending on their experience, availability, training and operational requirements. This is an ideal opportunity for officers looking for varied security work and the opportunity to develop experience across multiple sectors. Key Responsibilities Depending on your assignment, your duties may include: * Providing a professional and visible security presence * Protecting staff, members of the public, patients, visitors and property * Conducting regular patrols of assigned areas * Monitoring entrances, exits and access-controlled areas * Responding appropriately to incidents, disturbances and emergencies * Managing conflict and challenging behaviour professionally * Assisting with crowd management and public safety at events * Supporting retail teams with loss prevention and incident management * Supporting healthcare staff in maintaining a safe and secure environment * Following site-specific Assignment Instructions and company procedures * Accurately completing Daily Occurrence Books, incident reports and other required documentation * Using radios, body-worn cameras and other security equipment where required * Liaising professionally with clients, emergency services and members of the public * Reporting incidents promptly to the appropriate supervisor or management team Requirements Applicants must: * Hold a valid SIA Door Supervisor or Security Guarding licence * Have the legal right to work in the UK * Be able to complete the required BS7858 security screening and vetting process * Have good written and verbal communication skills * Be professional, punctual and reliable * Be confident dealing with members of the public * Be able to remain calm and professional in challenging situations * Be willing to follow company and client policies and site-specific procedures * Be flexible regarding locations and shift patterns where possible Previous experience within security, retail, healthcare or events is desirable but not essential for all assignments. Additional training or qualifications may be required for certain sites. Relevant training will be discussed with successful applicants before deployment.
