We’re seeking an experienced and accomplished Company Stage Manager to lead the touring company of Éireann, a brand new theatrical production by A Taste of Ireland. This is the most senior role on tour, responsible for calling all performances, preparing and maintaining the prompt book, overseeing cast and crew welfare, and ensuring the show runs safely and professionally across all venues.
You’ll coordinate daily operations on the road, liaise with venue staff and the production team, and respond to the challenges of touring with a calm, solutions-focused mindset. You’ll supervise technical rehearsals, lead load-ins and load-outs, and act as the primary point of contact for all touring matters. This role requires someone who is not only highly organised and technically capable, but also a people-focused leader and strong communicator.
Key responsibilities include:
- Calling all performances and managing show cues
- Preparing and maintaining the prompt book
- Overseeing cast and crew welfare on tour
- Liaising with venues, producers, and creatives
- Leading rehearsals, load-ins, and pack-downs
- Maintaining professional show standards throughout the tour
This is a fixed-term touring contract beginning in late July. Weekly pay is 1000 pounds per week plus all accommodation, travel, and per diems provided.
Qualifications / Requirements:
- Minimum 3+ years’ experience as a Stage Manager in touring or professional theatre
- Proven ability to call cue-heavy shows and maintain a prompt book
- Strong leadership and interpersonal skills — able to manage cast and crew on the road
- Excellent organisational, time management, and problem-solving skills
- Confident liaising with venues, producers, and technical teams
- Calm under pressure, adaptable, and team-oriented
- Familiarity with Google Suite or similar tools for schedules and reporting
- Full-time availability from late July through mid-August
- UK or Ireland-based with the right to work in both
