We are looking for experienced Steel Fixers to support the delivery of a major rail station infrastructure project involving reinforced concrete and structural civils works. Duties will include:
- Fixing reinforcement steel for:
- Lift pits
- Retaining walls
- LB beams
- Pre-cast concrete units
- Foundations and structural concrete elements
- Reading and interpreting reinforcement drawings and bending schedules
- Cutting, bending and tying steel reinforcement to specification
- Installing mesh, cages, dowels and starter bars
- Working closely with shuttering carpenters and concrete gangs
- Ensuring reinforcement is positioned correctly before concrete pours
- Maintaining high standards of health, safety and quality on site
Requirements:
- Blue CSCS Card Steel Fixer
- Proven experience on RC frames or heavy civils projects
- Ability to read and work from reinforcement drawings
- Experience with large structural pours and retaining structures
- PTS preferred
- Strong understanding of safe lifting and manual handling procedures
