The Project Manager leads complex, high-value, multi-workstream projects within Rackspace's major accounts, operating independently and serving as the senior delivery presence at project level. You will own delivery end-to-end on projects, define the governance framework for your accounts, act as the primary customer escalation point.
Key Responsibilities- Lead complex, high-value, multi-workstream projects within major accounts independently, applying stage gates at Start, Plan, Build, and Close.
- Ensure all projects are on track, within scope, budget and meet quality and project excellence requirements.
- Oversee project-level planning, execution, and governance across multiple workstreams and stakeholders.
- Develop and maintain detailed project plans using tools like Microsoft Project (MSP), MS Excel, MS Planner– as per the customer request.
- Serve as the primary customer escalation point for project-level risks, resolving issues before they reach the steering committee.
- Manage executive-level customer stakeholder relationships.
- Coach and mentor Project Managers and Coordinators within the team.
- Identify account-level risks, expansion signals, and renewal considerations proactively.
- Contribute to resource capacity planning and program pipeline reviews.
- Drive continuous improvement through lessons-learned submission.
- Define the project governance framework and reporting cadence per account and chair the Project Board.
- Travel & be onsite with customers as & when required (current customer project London based).
- 6–9 years of project management experience, including 3+ years in IT managed services.
- Background & understanding in IT Infrastructure including:
- Cloud Computing (Private/Public/Hybrid)
- Networking
- Virtualization
- Storage Solutions
- Operating Systems (Windows/Linux)
- Databases
- Backup and Recovery
- PMP or PRINCE2 Practitioner certification required.
- Proven track record managing projects of $1M or above, end-to-end.
- Experience managing executive-level customer stakeholder relationships.
- Experience with hybrid delivery and agile workstreams within a structured project governance framework.
- Comfortable applying AI across the project delivery workflow.
