Role Description
This is a full-time, on-site Lift Engineer role based in the Midlands area.
The Lift Engineer will carry out routine maintenance, fault diagnosis, and repair work on a variety of lifting equipment, including passenger lifts, platform lifts, and dumbwaiters.
Responsibilities include responding to breakdowns, conducting safety inspections, completing service reports, and ensuring all work complies with relevant regulations and company standards.
The role involves regular interaction with customers and site stakeholders to provide clear updates, manage expectations, and promote safe use of equipment.
The Lift Engineer will collaborate with colleagues and supervisors to plan work schedules, support installations or modernizations when required, and contribute to continuous improvement in service delivery.
Qualifications
- Strong technical skills and experience working with lifting equipment, including lifts, escalators, and related systems.
- Proficiency in maintenance & repair activities, such as fault-finding, component replacement, and planned preventative servicing.
- Effective communication skills to liaise with customers, colleagues, and site contacts in a clear and professional manner.
- Sound understanding of health & safety requirements, industry regulations, and safe working practices in engineering environments.
- Customer service mindset, with the ability to manage expectations, handle queries, and represent the company positively on site.
- Recognized engineering qualification (e. g., NVQ, City & Guilds, or equivalent) in lift engineering, electrical, or mechanical discipline.
- Relevant industry experience in lift or elevator engineering; exposure to accessibility or dumbwaiter systems is an advantage.
- Ability to work independently, manage time effectively, and participate in an out-of-hours rota when required.
