The Opportunity

A genuinely strong opportunity for an experienced Project Controls Manager to join a well-regarded global consultancy and take a leading role across some of the most complex capital programmes in the market right now.

About Our Client

Our client is an established consultancy with a strong international reputation and a solid track record delivering major infrastructure and capital programmes across the globe. They work across transport, energy and urban development, and their London team reflects that breadth. The culture is professional and collaborative, with high standards and real investment in the people who join them.

The Role

Joining as Project Controls Manager, you will take ownership of the project controls function across one or more major capital programmes. Working closely with clients, programme directors and multidisciplinary delivery teams, your day-to-day will span:

  • Leading the design and implementation of project controls frameworks across cost, schedule, risk and reporting
  • Developing and maintaining integrated programme schedules using Primavera P6, ensuring baselines are robust and variances are well understood
  • Driving Earned Value Management analysis and translating performance data into clear, actionable insight for senior stakeholders
  • Managing cost control processes, forecasting, and budget tracking across complex, multi-workstream programmes
  • Producing high-quality performance reports and dashboards for client and executive audiences
  • Identifying risks proactively, supporting mitigation planning, and keeping delivery on track through periods of change and uncertainty
  • Acting as a trusted advisor to programme leadership and influencing decisions with data-driven confidence

What We're Looking For

  • A proven track record in project controls, ideally gained within a consultancy or major programme environment
  • Solid hands-on experience with Primavera P6 and Earned Value Management
  • Strong cost management capability, from budget setting through to final account
  • Degree-level education in engineering, project management, quantity surveying, or a related discipline
  • Clear, confident communication skills with the ability to present complex information to a range of audiences
  • A collaborative mindset and the confidence to engage at senior levels

Why This Role?

The work is genuinely interesting, the programmes are large and varied, and there is a clear path for progression for the right person. You will get exposure to high-profile projects and a team that knows what it is doing. For a Project Controls Manager looking for a step up or a more stimulating environment, this is worth a serious look.
