Role Purpose

The Power BI Specialist will be embedded within the programme controls and reporting function supporting a major nuclear new build programme. The post holder will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining Power BI solutions that deliver clear, actionable insight across cost, schedule, risk, and performance data to project controls and senior stakeholder audiences.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design and develop Power BI dashboards and reports to support programme controls, cost management, and schedule reporting within a major nuclear new build programme
  • Build and maintain data models, DAX measures, and Power Query transformations to support accurate and timely reporting
  • Integrate data from multiple sources including Primavera P6, SAP, Excel, and other project management tools
  • Work with stakeholders to gather reporting requirements and translate them into effective visual solutions
  • Maintain data governance standards, ensuring reports are accurate, version-controlled, and appropriately documented
  • Support the wider PMO and project controls team with ad hoc analytics and data requests
  • Identify opportunities to automate and streamline existing reporting processes
  • Provide training and guidance to team members on Power BI tools and best practice

Person Specification — Essential

  • Proven experience developing Power BI solutions in a complex programme or project environment
  • Strong DAX and Power Query (M) skills with the ability to build sophisticated data models from scratch
  • Experience integrating Power BI with multiple data sources (SQL, Excel, SharePoint, project management tools)
  • Ability to communicate data clearly to both technical and non-technical stakeholders
  • Strong analytical mindset with excellent attention to detail
  • Experience working within a project controls, PMO, or major infrastructure environment

Person Specification — Desirable

  • Experience on major infrastructure, energy, or nuclear programmes
  • Familiarity with Primavera P6, Asta Powerproject, or equivalent scheduling tools
  • Knowledge of Earned Value Management (EVM) and programme controls principles
  • Experience with Power Automate, Power Apps, or the wider Microsoft Power Platform
  • Microsoft PL-300 (Power BI Data Analyst) certification

Working Arrangements

This is a permanent role offered on a hybrid basis. The post holder will be required on site 2 days per week, with the remainder of the working week remote. Travel expenses from London will be reimbursed in line with our clients expenses policy.
