The PR associate (6-Month Maternity Cover) will support the European Communications Director in London to develop and implement media campaigns for the gallery's locations in London, Berlin and Geneva, as well as supporting on all required tasks to promote the gallery's presentations at European art fairs and other activities and exhibitions in the region.

What You’ll Be Doing, PR:

  • Work together with the European Communications Director to devise and coordinate press campaigns for exhibitions, art fairs, and other gallery activities in the UK and Europe.
  • Proactively reach out to arts and culture media in tandem with the communications team to create awareness around exhibitions and programmes in the UK and Europe as well as the gallery’s artists.
  • Work in close partnership with the Global press team to coordinate media campaigns and lend support to global press initiatives where appropriate.
  • Maintain and update extensive press list database; develop tailored press lists to support PR campaigns and monitor/flag new press contacts for the team.
  • Actively monitor London’s press inbox and field relevant press inquiries in real time.
  • Compile, organize, and format key communications materials such as press releases, images and caption sheets, press kits, and coverage books.
  • Maintain Dropboxes of press materials, including press releases, artwork images, caption sheets and installation images.
  • Research and update editorial calendars for print and online publications.
  • Upload installation images onto the gallery’s internal image database.
  • Support press event coordination and media cultivation.
  • Research to support PR planning—flag industry trends in media and within the commercial gallery world.
  • Proactively contribute ideas that will help raise visibility for the gallery’s exhibitions and corporate initiatives.

What you will be doing, Events:

  • Help to coordinate the gallery’s European events including but not limited to exhibition-related events in London, European art fair events, miscellaneous cultivation events, and occasional public programmes.
  • Prepare and coordinate budgets, expense tracking, and invoice processing.
  • Liaise with various vendors, including but not limited to catering services, restaurants and event venues.
  • Manage and maintain guest lists, including tracking RSVPs and follow-ups, and creating face sheets.
  • Work in close partnership with the Global Events team to support European events.
  • Work in partnership with several departments across the gallery, including but not limited to Sales and Curatorial, Operations, and Gallery Assistants.
  • Maintain an updated calendar of all gallery programmes and events within Asana.
  • Communicate programme and events information to gallery staff.

Requirements What You’ll Bring:

  • At least 1-2 years of experience working in public relations or communications in the arts/culture field.
  • Experience with events coordination.
  • Able to work collaboratively and independently under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
  • Strong interpersonal skills, including verbal and writing.
  • Exceptional project management skills, with the ability to prioritize and multitask.
  • Familiarity with customer relationship management (CRM) tools as well as event management software.
  • Extremely organized and detail-oriented.
  • Literacy in media with strong analytical skills.
