POSITION OVERVIEW

Pace Gallery are currently recruiting for an Accountant to support the Finance Director of Europe in the London office to oversee all financial aspects of Pace’s European and Asian entities and work closely with teams in other Pace locations. We are looking for a diligent, self-motivated and responsible Accountant with impeccable attention to detail to implement process improvements and streamline the Finance and AP functions.

What you’ll be doing:

  • Review sales invoices for compliance with AML, correct import/sales VAT rates and accuracy in billing entity.
  • Process payments received from clients and send out notifications to the sales teams.
  • Review acquisition costs for accuracy and AML compliance.
  • Release sales and acquisitions invoices from inventory system and post the transactions in the accounting system.
  • Process and approve high volume of vendor invoices and credit notes and update the invoice submission and management portal.
  • Prepare weekly consignor and vendor open invoice listings.
  • Reconcile vendor statements and request copies of any missing invoices/credit notes for processing.
  • Review Supplier Master data and ensure all contact details/VAT numbers are up to date.
  • Raise BACS payments and any other payments as required for daily/weekly payment runs.
  • Reconcile all bank accounts.
  • Assist in the month end close, by posting journals and preparing reconciliations.
  • Assist in the preparation of VAT Returns for UK, Germany and Switzerland.
  • Assist Finance Director with the weekly completion of the business cashflow forecast and reporting.
  • Review, approve and post company credit card and cash expenses.
  • Assist Finance Director with reviewing internal controls and assist in performing internal and external audits.
  • Provide a high level of customer service to internal and external parties including keeping up to date with all emails/phone calls to resolve all queries.
  • Challenge existing working practices and actively identify areas where improvements can be made and with the guidance of management, implement those.
  • Where appropriate, assist team members in other departments across the company.
  • Any other tasks as required by your line manager.

Requirements:

  • At least 3 years’ experience in a Finance department.
  • Qualified or qualified by experience, with strong accounting knowledge.
  • Must have experience of working with Microsoft Office suite (Excel, Word, etc.).
  • Experience working with Sage Intaact a plus.
  • Proven experience processing high volumes of transactions and trouble shooting.
  • Familiar with dealing in multiple currencies.
  • Experience of working in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong Interpersonal and Customer communication skills.
  • Highly organized, analytical and detail oriented.
  • Excellent prioritization and time management skills.
  • Ability to work on own initiative, uses initiative and a proactive approach to problem solving.

Compensation: Annual salary of 40,000 - 45,000 GBP.
