POSH is looking for Lead Engineers to manage and execute the SURF (Subsea Riser Umbilical and Flowline) and diving construction scopes on a project. The role reports directly to the Project Package Manager on a specific project and works closely with other members of the Project Management Team (PMT) on a day-to-day basis, such as Engineering Manager, Project Operations Manager, HSE and Quality Managers.

Key Responsibilities

  • Coordinating with other departments and teams to ensure that SURF/Diving package activities are properly integrated into the overall project plan.
  • Provides specialist skills, integrity, and knowledge in key areas of discipline engineering, including design codes, legislative requirements and current good engineering practice.
  • Understands clients' needs; identifies and addresses design parameters and problems; develops and implements solutions.
  • Ensures project and HS&E compliance and adherence to project budget & schedule.
  • Independently evaluates, organises and prioritises work.
  • Undertakes responsibility for production of installation deliverables, which may include engineering support to the Drawing Office, installation procedures, technical bid evaluations, study reports and various 3rd-party submissions.
  • Signs and issues technical documentation as originator or checker, accepting personal responsibility for its adequacy.
  • Ensures all relevant safety objectives and legal requirements are observed.
  • Developing and managing procurement strategies and plans to ensure that equipment and materials are delivered on time and within budget.
  • Coordinating with suppliers and vendors to ensure that equipment and materials are manufactured, tested, and delivered to the required quality standards.
  • Coordinating with offshore installation teams to ensure that the SURF package is installed and commissioned according to the project schedule and quality standards.
  • Providing technical advice and guidance to senior management and other stakeholders.
  • Providing technical guidance and support to the team of engineers and technical professionals working on the package.
  • Trains / mentors more junior engineers.
  • May manage a team of engineers on a project or within a discipline.
  • Manage interfaces within a project structure, including other disciplines, drawing office, document control, project management, client and suppliers.
  • Manage change control within own remit on a project.
  • Inform team members where constraints will affect a project in terms of programme or budget.

Job Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or related field.
  • At least 10-15 years of experience in SURF/Diving Installation operations.
  • Relevant experience working on previous EPCI or T&I offshore construction projects is preferred.
  • Previous track record of working on Saudi Aramco LTA Projects of similar scopes is an advantage.
  • Must have a good understanding of SURF Installation operations including various lay spreads (horizontal lay for flexibles and umbilicals / basket carousel for cable lay), lay techniques and procedures, as well as relevant installation regulations and standards.
  • Must have a good understanding of diving operations including DSV and diving spreads, diving techniques, and procedures, as well as relevant diving regulations and standards.
  • Must possess strong leadership, communication and problem-solving skills.
  • Must be able to work under pressure and manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Ability to lead and function within a design team and across multiple projects.
  • Ability to prioritise own and others’ workload, manage time accordingly and inform team members where constraints will affect a project in terms of programme or budget.
  • Excellent analytical and communication skills, with the ability to work effectively with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Fluent in English.
