About the opportunity
This is an exciting opportunity to join Mediapoint, our market-leading media intelligence platform, as a Senior Sales Executive. In this role, you’ll focus on winning new business and building relationships with clients across corporate, public and not-for-profit sectors. You’ll help organisations better understand the news agenda, connect with media and strengthen their communications activity. We’re looking for someone who enjoys developing new opportunities, building strong relationships and managing the sales process from first conversation through to close. You’ll use a consultative approach, taking time to understand client challenges and recommending the right solutions. You’ll work closely with colleagues across Sales and Marketing as part of a supportive commercial team. This role will also involve helping and supporting more junior team members where needed, as well as participating in cross-divisional multi-service deals.
What you’ll be doing
- Identifying and developing new business opportunities within your territory
- Speaking with prospective clients to understand their PR and communications needs
- Demonstrating how Mediapoint products and services can support client objectives
- Managing the full sales cycle, from outreach and meetings through to negotiation and close
- Building and maintaining a strong sales pipeline and keeping forecasts up to date
- Working with Marketing on campaigns, inbound leads and sales activity
- Supporting sales strategies to increase territory growth and revenue opportunities
- Collaborating with colleagues across the wider PR & Marketing Services division
- Supporting and sharing knowledge with junior Sales Executives
What we’re looking for
We’re looking for someone who enjoys building relationships, developing new business opportunities and working in a fast-paced commercial environment. You’ll likely bring:
- Experience managing the sales process from prospecting through to close
- A track record of meeting or exceeding sales targets
- Experience in consultative or solution-based sales
- Confidence managing your own sales territory and pipeline
- Strong communication and relationship-building skills
- A proactive and resilient approach
It would be great if you also have:
- Experience using consultative sales methodologies such as SPIN or Challenger
- Experience selling multiple products or services
- An understanding of upselling and cross-selling opportunities
- Experience within media, technology, PR, marketing, financial services or similar sectors
