PA Media Group is the UK’s leading provider of trusted news, information and data services. For more than 150 years, we’ve played a central role in the UK media ecosystem. Today, we’re evolving. As the communications landscape shifts, we are building a more integrated, commercially focused marketing communications division, bringing together specialist brands including Mediapoint, Hydrogen, Sticky and PA Media Assignments into one powerful, joined-up proposition.

About the opportunity

This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to the growth of Mediapoint, our market-leading media intelligence platform. As a Sales Executive, you’ll focus on driving new business - engaging prospects across corporate, public and not-for-profit sectors, and helping them better understand the news agenda, connect with media and shape their voice. This role is ideal for a proactive, “hunter” mindset salesperson; someone who enjoys building pipelines, opening doors and converting opportunities while developing their consultative sales approach. You’ll work closely with the Sales Team Lead and be part of a wider commercial function, giving you exposure to broader sales opportunities across the PR & Marketing Services division.

What you’ll be doing

  • Prospect within your assigned territory to identify and generate new business leads
  • Initiate conversations with prospective clients to understand their PR and communications challenges
  • Develop a strong understanding of Mediapoint and position it effectively against client needs
  • Manage the full sales cycle - from initial outreach through to negotiation and contract close
  • Build and maintain a healthy pipeline, with a focus on conversion and forecasting accuracy
  • Work closely with marketing on sales campaigns, inbound leads and outreach activity
  • Approach your territory with structure and consistency to maximise coverage and opportunity generation
  • Collaborate with colleagues across the wider division to support cross-sell opportunities where relevant

What we’re looking for

We’re looking for someone with the drive to win new business, combined with the curiosity to understand client challenges and sell solutions - not just products. You’ll likely bring:

  • Experience in a sales role, with exposure to the full sales cycle (prospecting to close)
  • A track record of meeting or exceeding sales targets
  • A proactive, resilient mindset with a focus on generating opportunities
  • Strong communication and relationship-building skills
  • The ability to manage a territory in a structured, consistent way

It would be a bonus if you have:

  • Experience or interest in media, marketing, PR, technology or data-led environments
  • Exposure to consultative sales approaches (e.g. SPIN, Challenger)
  • An understanding of cross-selling or working across multiple products/services

This role is particularly suited to someone who is early in their sales career but ready to step up, or someone looking to build their expertise in a more consultative, insight-led environment.

Benefits

  • Be part of a growing, evolving division with a clear ambition to build a more integrated and commercially focused marketing communications offering
  • Sell a market-leading product – Mediapoint sits at the intersection of data, insight and communications strategy
  • High-impact role with clear ownership of your pipeline and contribution to revenue growth
  • Opportunity to grow and develop your skills in consultative sales within a supportive, ambitious team
  • Exposure to a wider portfolio – collaborate across the division and contribute to broader commercial opportunities
  • Competitive salary with performance-based bonus (uncapped earning potential)
  • Hybrid, flexible working typically 3 days in the Paddington office
  • 25 days’ holiday plus options to buy more, alongside enhanced family leave
  • Life assurance 4x salary
  • Wellbeing and volunteering days to support you inside and outside of work
