Leeds Full-Time No working from home possible
PA Media Group

We are looking for a Procurement Executive to support business areas across PA Media Group, helping teams turn their plans and priorities into informed, compliant and commercially sound purchasing decisions.

About us.

PA is the UK and Ireland’s trusted national news agency, delivering 24 hour multimedia journalism to every major newsroom across the country. With more than 150 years of newsgathering experience, our commitment to fast, fair and accurate reporting was recognised when PA Media was named National News Media Organisation of the Year at the Media Freedom Awards in 2025.

We sit at the heart of PA Media Group, a diverse portfolio of media and data businesses, including the picture agency Alamy and the video platform StreamAMG. We provide essential content, services and technology to publishers, broadcasters and brands.

About the role.

You will join our Procurement team and support specific business areas across PA Media Group, becoming a visible and trusted point of contact for their procurement needs.

Working closely with stakeholders and Finance Business Partners, you will build a clear understanding of business priorities, budgets and future demand. You will provide procurement advice, help colleagues identify the right commercial approach and support sourcing activity, supplier relationships, contracts and purchasing processes.

This is a fixed term position. You will initially work from our Howden office before moving to our new Leeds office. You must be able to work from both locations during the contract.

We are happy to discuss the role, salary and working arrangements during the recruitment process.

What you will be doing.

• Build trusted relationships with assigned business areas, acting as their main procurement contact and providing practical commercial advice

• Understand stakeholder priorities, budgets and operational challenges so procurement support meets business needs

• Work with Finance Business Partners and budget owners to improve visibility of planned spend and identify future procurement requirements

• Advise colleagues on sourcing options, value for money, risk and the right route to market

• Lead or support sourcing exercises, supplier selection, negotiations and contract reviews for lower and medium complexity requirements

• Use spend, supplier and market information to identify savings, commercial risks and opportunities to improve business outcomes

• Support supplier onboarding, renewals and performance while promoting procurement policies, financial controls and a positive stakeholder experience

What you’ll need.

• Experience in procurement, purchasing or a related commercial role, including working closely with internal stakeholders

• Strong relationship building skills and confidence supporting different business areas

• The ability to understand business priorities and turn them into clear procurement plans and actions

• Confidence advising and constructively challenging stakeholders while maintaining positive working relationships

• Experience supporting sourcing, quotation or tender processes and negotiating with suppliers

• Good analytical skills and the ability to turn financial, spend and supplier data into clear commercial information

• Strong organisational skills, clear communication and the ability to manage competing priorities

• Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office

Experience in demand planning, spend analysis, procurement reporting, procurement systems or SAP would be useful. Progress towards a CIPS qualification, or an interest in working towards one, would also be welcomed.

What we can offer you.

• 5 weeks’ holiday in addition to 8 public holidays, adjusted for part time employees

• Holiday purchase scheme

• Enhanced pay for maternity, paternity and adoption leave

• 4% company pension contribution

• Wellbeing Day
