Do you have a sharp eye for detail and a passion for quality in housing repairs? Can you spot issues before they become problems and drive high standards that make a real difference to people’s homes? We’re looking for a Repairs Surveyor to join our Asset Management team, playing a key role in delivering high-quality repairs, voids, and maintenance services across our housing stock. You’ll be out and about inspecting properties, working with contractors, and ensuring our customers receive the safe, well-maintained homes they deserve. This isn’t your typical surveying role. It’s not just about inspections and specifications; it’s about improving homes, strengthening communities, and delivering a service you can be proud of.

What’s in it for you:

  • High street discount schemes
  • Health cash plans
  • 26 days’ annual leave, increasing to 29 after three years, with the opportunity to buy more
  • Flexible bank holidays - take them when it suits you
  • Car leasing scheme
  • Hybrid working - offering you the flexibility to thrive in your role. You'll have the opportunity to blend the best of both worlds, spending approximately two to three days per week in the office once settled in the role.
  • Optional nine-day fortnight scheme, allowing you to compress your hours if it suits the role.

What you’ll be doing:

  • Inspect properties and diagnose defects across responsive repairs, voids, and major works
  • Prepare specifications and manage works through to completion
  • Carry out pre- and post-inspections to ensure quality and value for money
  • Work closely with contractors to monitor performance and drive high standards
  • Manage disrepair cases, complaints, and complex customer enquiries
  • Ensure health & safety compliance through audits and site inspections
  • Support efficient turnaround of void properties to minimise downtime
  • Build strong relationships with customers, colleagues, and external partners

What we’re looking for:

You’ll be a confident and proactive surveyor who enjoys being out on site, solving problems, and delivering results. You understand the importance of both technical expertise and great customer service. We’re looking for someone who:

  • Has a qualification at HNC level (at minimum) in construction or maintenance
  • Brings experience in property maintenance, repairs, or contract management
  • Has strong knowledge of diagnosing defects and specifying remedial works
  • Is confident managing contractors and holding them accountable for quality and performance
  • Communicates clearly and professionally with customers and stakeholders
  • Can manage a varied workload, prioritising effectively to meet deadlines
  • Is comfortable working independently while contributing to a wider team
  • Holds a full driving licence and has access to a vehicle for business use

Experience in social housing is ideal, but just as important is your ability to deliver a great service, think on your feet, and continuously look for ways to improve. If specific qualifications are required, please upload them with your application to demonstrate your eligibility.

At PA Housing, we believe in respect, integrity, and accountability. Our work is about people - not just properties - and we’re always looking for ways to do better. If that sounds like your kind of place, we’d love to hear from you.

This role requires the successful candidate to complete a standard DBS check. A standard DBS check will show any spent and unspent convictions. This role will be required to visit/support PA Housing residents in their own homes on a regular basis. Therefore we have a duty to our residents to ensure that we have taken precautions regarding who will be visiting them and representing PA Housing. Having unspent convictions will not necessarily preclude you from being recruited into the role; if you are potentially the successful candidate, we will complete a risk assessment with you to understand the circumstances around your conviction, how relevant they are to the post you have applied for and what remedial action, if any, you have taken since your conviction. Suitable references will also need to be obtained prior to commencement of employment.

To apply for this role please click on the apply button or for any enquiries please email. We reserve the right to close this job advert early if we receive a sufficient number of applications. Therefore, we advise you to apply promptly to ensure your application can be considered.
