We’re looking for a Rent Setting and Processing Manager to lead a high-performing team responsible for rent setting, rent income processing and accounts receivable across our housing portfolio. This is a key leadership role where you’ll ensure our rent data is accurate, compliant with legislation and regulatory standards, and delivered with excellent service to both internal teams and our residents.
Working closely with teams across the organisation, you’ll oversee rent calculations, income processing, financial controls and reporting, while continuously improving systems and processes to support efficient service delivery. - Hybrid working – offering you the flexibility to thrive in your role. You will have the opportunity to blend the best of both worlds, spending approximately two to three days per week in the office once settled in the role. This is flexible and depends on meeting cycles and board activity. We also offer an optional nine-day fortnight scheme, allowing you to compress your hours if it suits the role.
What you’ll be doing:
- Lead and manage the rent processing team to deliver accurate rent setting, rent posting and accounts receivable services.
- Ensure all rents, service charges and other charges are calculated and applied in line with legislation, regulation and tenancy agreements.
- Oversee the accurate posting of rental income and ensure efficient credit control and debtor management processes.
- Monitor and improve financial controls, ensuring accounting records and systems accurately reflect all income activity.
- Lead on rent reviews, reporting and analytical insight to support decision making and regulatory reporting.
- Act as the organisation’s internal expert on rent setting and relevant housing legislation.
- Develop processes, KPIs and performance measures to improve efficiency and service delivery.
- Lead and develop a team of rent officers, supporting performance, training and continuous improvement.
- Ensure strong compliance, audit readiness and regulatory assurance across all rent processing activities.
What we’re looking for:
We’re looking for someone who combines technical financial expertise with strong leadership and a proactive approach to improvement. You’ll bring:
- A recognised accounting qualification (ACCA / CIMA) would be desired or equivalent senior finance experience.
- Strong knowledge of rent setting, rent standards and service charge legislation.
- Experience working within social housing or a similarly regulated environment.
- Experience leading and developing teams in a finance or income processing environment.
- Strong analytical and reporting skills with the ability to interpret financial data.
- Experience managing accounts receivable, credit control or income management processes.
- A collaborative approach and the ability to work with stakeholders across finance, housing management and operational teams.
- The ability to work to deadlines while maintaining accuracy and compliance.
