Are you passionate about creating thriving communities for older people? Can you combine leadership, customer focus, and community engagement to make a real difference to residents' lives? We're looking for a Regional Independent Living Lead to help shape and deliver high-quality services across our Housing for Older People schemes. This is a varied and rewarding role where you'll lead on resident engagement, wellbeing initiatives, service improvements, and the future development of our independent living offer. This isn't your typical housing role. It's about creating communities where older residents feel safe, connected, supported, and proud to live. From improving communal spaces to driving meaningful engagement activities, you'll play a key role in enhancing both services and lives.
What's in it for you:
- In addition to the salary, we offer a number of benefits, including:
- High street discount schemes
- Health cash plans
- 26 days annual leave, increasing to 29 after three years, with the opportunity to buy more
- Flexible bank holidays - take them when it suits you
- Car leasing scheme
- Hybrid working - offering you the flexibility to thrive in your role.
- You'll have the opportunity to blend the best of both worlds, spending approximately two to three days per week in the office once settled in the role. This is flexible and depends on meeting cycles and board activity.
- We also offer an optional nine-day fortnight scheme, allowing you to compress your hours if it suits the role.
What you'll be doing:
- Build strong relationships with residents across Independent Living schemes, maintaining a visible and supportive presence
- Lead community engagement initiatives and activities that promote wellbeing and reduce isolation
- Deliver high-quality tenancy and housing management support tailored to older residents
- Work with internal teams and external agencies to support safeguarding, wellbeing, and tenancy sustainment
- Identify opportunities to improve scheme environments, communal spaces, and overall customer experience
- Monitor repairs, maintenance issues, and asset performance to ensure schemes remain safe and fit for purpose
- Complete and maintain Individual Personal Emergency Evacuation Plans (iPeeps) for residents who require additional support
- Use customer feedback, data, and insight to drive continuous improvement and shape future services
What we're looking for:
- You’ll be a compassionate and proactive leader who genuinely cares about creating positive outcomes for older people.
- You’ll be comfortable balancing operational responsibilities with community engagement and service improvement.
- We're particularly interested in someone who:
- Has experience working within housing, neighbourhoods, customer services, or community-focused environments
- Understands the challenges and opportunities within housing for older people
- Is confident building relationships with residents, colleagues, contractors, and partner agencies
- Can manage complex situations sensitively, including safeguarding and customer wellbeing concerns
- Has experience using customer insight and performance information to improve services
- Is organised, adaptable, and able to manage competing priorities effectively
- Communicates clearly and confidently, both verbally and in writing
- Holds a full driving licence and is comfortable travelling between schemes and locations
Leadership experience is important, but equally valuable is your ability to inspire trust, promote positive change, and create communities where residents feel valued and supported. If specific qualifications are required, please upload them with your application to demonstrate your eligibility.
At PA Housing, we believe in respect, integrity, and accountability. Our work is about people - not just properties - and we're always looking for ways to do better. If that sounds like your kind of place, we'd love to hear from you.
Disclosure and Barring Service: This role requires the successful candidate to complete a standard DBS check. A standard DBS check will show any spent and unspent convictions. So why do we need to know this information? This role will be required to visit/support PA Housing residents in their own homes on a regular basis. Therefore we have a duty to our residents to ensure that we have taken precautions regarding who will be visiting them and representing PA Housing. Having unspent convictions will not necessarily preclude you from being recruited into the role; if you are potentially the successful candidate, we will complete a risk assessment with you to understand the circumstances around your conviction, how relevant they are to the post you have applied for and what remedial action, if any, you have taken since your conviction. Suitable references will also need to be obtained prior to commencement of employment.
