We’re looking for a detail-focused and customer-driven Service Charge Officer to join our team at PA Housing. This is a great opportunity to play a key role in delivering accurate and transparent service charges that residents can trust. You’ll be involved in the full service charge cycle from setting budgets to producing year-end accounts while working closely with colleagues across the business and supporting residents with their queries. What you’ll be doing:
- Deliver the full service charge cycle, including budgets, year-end statements, and reconciliations
- Validate service charge costs and ensure accurate allocation across schemes
- Investigate and resolve variances, working with stakeholders to understand differences
- Produce clear and transparent communications for residents about their service charges
- Review invoices, accruals, and prepayments to ensure financial accuracy
- Work closely with auditors and support year-end processes
- Manage a portfolio of schemes and attend site visits to support resident queries
- Collaborate with teams across housing, finance, and estates to ensure a joined-up service
- Support development teams with setting service charges for new schemes
- Identify opportunities to improve processes, accuracy, and value for money
What we’re looking for:
- Experience in a service charge, finance, or accounting role (ideally within housing)
- Understanding of service charge legislation or keen to develop your knowledge
- Confidence working with financial data and analysing complex information
- Strong Excel and Microsoft Office skills
- Ability to communicate clearly and explain financial information in a simple way
- Organised and able to manage multiple deadlines
- Enjoy working collaboratively with both finance and non-finance colleagues
- Proactive, “can-do” attitude and a focus on continuous improvement
- AAT qualified or currently studying (or equivalent experience)
