We're looking for an experienced and influential Head of Health & Safety to lead and shape our health and safety strategy across PA Housing. This is a pivotal leadership role where you'll drive a positive safety culture, provide expert advice to the Executive Management Team and Board, and ensure we continue to meet the highest standards of compliance while protecting our colleagues, residents and customers.
This is an exciting opportunity to lead organisational change, influence strategic decision-making and embed a proactive approach to health and safety that supports safe homes, safe workplaces and excellent services across the business.
Please note this a fixed term contract for 12 months

What you’ll be doing…
- Lead the development and delivery of PA Housing's Health & Safety Strategy and management system.
- Act as the organisation's competent person, providing expert advice to the Executive Management Team and Board.
- Drive a positive health and safety culture, ensuring compliance with all relevant legislation and regulatory requirements.
- Lead investigations into accidents, incidents and RIDDOR-reportable events, identifying lessons learned and improvement actions.
- Develop and review health and safety policies, procedures and operational standards across the organisation.
- Build strong relationships with regulators, enforcement bodies and internal stakeholders to provide assurance and expert guidance.
- Lead organisational health and safety audits, reporting on performance, risks and compliance to senior leadership.
- Inspire, coach and develop colleagues while driving continuous improvement and embedding best practice across the business

What we’re looking for:
- Significant leadership experience in a strategic Health & Safety role, ideally within housing, property, construction or a similarly regulated environment.
- NEBOSH Diploma and Chartered Membership of IOSH (CMIOSH).
- Strong knowledge of health and safety legislation, regulatory compliance and risk management.
- Experience advising Executive Teams and Boards on strategic health and safety matters.
- Proven ability to develop and implement organisational health and safety strategies and management systems.
- Excellent leadership, influencing and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to build credibility at all levels.
- Strong analytical, investigation and report-writing skills with experience presenting to senior leaders.
- A collaborative and proactive leader who is passionate about creating safe environments and driving continuous improvement.
