PA Consulting’s technology centre in Melbourn has an enviable prototyping facility with workshops for machining, 3D printing and rapid prototyping. If you can think of it, we can probably make it in-house. These workshops are populated by a team of highly skilled technicians who work closely with our engineers and scientists who turn innovative designs into test rigs and prototypes.
Responsibilities (implied)
The role involves using manual and CNC machinery, EDM and a range of 3D printing technologies to create or modify parts for engineers, scientists and designers. The best part of the job is the variety of requests, from medical devices to mould tools and parts for test rigs.
What we’re looking for
We are looking for a technician that has strong machining skills but ideally also has experience or interest in other fabrication techniques. This role requires candidates to be onsite 5 days a week due to the nature of the job.
Qualifications
Essential Skills
- CNC Machinist Milling & turning, ideally on Haas mills
- CAD experience, preferably Solidworks
- Computer literacy
Desirable Skills
- SolidCAM
- Wire erosion and Die Sinking
- 3D printing experience, ideally in SLA or Polyjet
- Design & manufacture of test rigs and mould tools
- Precision assembly & Machine building
- Pneumatic/electropneumatic experience
