Job Description

This is a hands-on, in-office role based in our Melbourn office. Due to the systems supported, occasional weekend work and on-call duties are required, so flexibility is essential.

The Group Systems Team supports the wider firm across seven key areas: Business Engagement and Governance, Strategy and Enterprise Architecture, Infrastructure, Data and Analytics, Enterprise Solutions, Cyber Security, and Technology and Operations.

Our Service teams within the Technology and Operations pillar deliver end-to-end support, including the Global Service Desk, 2nd line, Application Support, Operations, Infrastructure, and Digital Workspace teams.

About the Infrastructure team

The Infrastructure Team acts as a point of escalation for UK users, based in Cambridge. They combine excellent problem-solving skills with high-quality customer service to resolve issues efficiently, using established processes and independent investigation to identify, resolve, and document solutions for future reference.

This role involves managing segregated, technically rich environments, allowing skill development in technical management, automation, and operations, while ensuring environments are available, reliable, secure, and meet demands.

Qualifications

About you

You should have strong knowledge in designing, building, maintaining, and supporting Azure cloud environments, including implementing Azure Virtual Desktop (AVD) (Essential).

Excellent knowledge of M365, O365, Exchange, virtual hosting (including VMware Horizon), Hyper-V, SaaS Backup Platforms, and Group Policy.

Good troubleshooting skills and the ability to work under pressure to identify and fix IT security vulnerabilities, as well as implementing new IT technologies and services.

Strong communication skills at all organizational levels and the ability to produce clear documentation.

Comfortable working independently or as part of a team, using initiative.

Organizational skills to plan and maintain infrastructure, ensuring it remains current and available.
