The Role

As a Care Supervisor, you will play a key role in ensuring our clients receive safe, effective, and responsive care while supporting and developing our team of Care Assistants. You will act as a mentor, coach, and leader, helping colleagues deliver high-quality care and ensuring that every client receives the support they need to live life their way.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support and supervise a team of Care Assistants across the service.
  • Assist with the induction and onboarding of new team members.
  • Conduct shadowing visits, spot checks, supervisions, and appraisals.
  • Create and maintain staff one-page profiles and development plans.
  • Ensure staff have the necessary uniforms, ID badges, and PPE.
  • Deliver client briefings and introductions for new care packages.
  • Work closely with the scheduling team to match Care Assistants to clients.
  • Attend first care visits to support successful introductions.
  • Manage staff changeovers and handovers for live-in care assignments.
  • Participate in the on-call rota 1 in 8 weeks rota'd.
  • Provide emergency cover for care visits when required.
  • Support quality assurance activities, investigations, and service improvements.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies, safeguarding procedures, and CQC standards.
  • Maintain accurate records and documentation.

About You

We're looking for someone who is passionate about care, enjoys supporting others, and leads by example.

Essential Requirements

  • Previous experience delivering care services within domiciliary care or a similar setting.
  • NVQ Level 2 in Health & Social Care or above.
  • Strong leadership and people skills.
  • Excellent communication and organisational abilities.
  • Ability to work independently and use initiative.
  • Knowledge of safeguarding procedures and recognising abuse.
  • Understanding of medication management and moving & handling practices.
  • Professional, reliable, and compassionate approach.
  • Full UK Driving Licence and access to a vehicle.

Desirable

  • Previous supervisory experience within social care.
  • Experience supporting and developing care teams.
