Im currently recruiting on behalf of a reputable Charity that is actively seeking an experienced Substance Misuse Worker for a service based in the Suffolk area, who is available to start immediately.

About the Role:

As a Recovery Worker, you'll be responsible for completing comprehensive assessments, delivering harm reduction advice and demonstrating a solid understanding of substance use issues. You'll also be expected to confidentially handle phone enquiries and provide support to the duty worker at reception, ensuring a professional and sensitive approach at all times.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Carry out initial and ongoing assessments of clients needs, risks and goals related to substance use.
  • Provide 1-1 support such as motivational interviewing, CBT techniques and brief interventions.
  • Deliver and support harm reduction advice including overdose prevention, needle exchange and completing DBST.
  • Liaise with other health professionals.
  • Maintain accurate and confidential records using case management systems.
  • Maintain accurate, up-to-date records of clients interactions, assessments and progress on case management systems.

Required:

  • Previous experience working within a drug and alcohol service.
  • Experience in completing assessments and providing harm reduction advice.
  • Right to work in the UK.
  • Enhanced DBS on the update service (or willing to obtain one).
