An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced HR Manager to join a growing organisation operating across Childrens Social Care and Independent Fostering. This is a key position supporting senior leadership teams, Registered Managers and employees across the full employee lifecycle. The successful candidate will play a central role in safer recruitment, employee relations, safeguarding, workforce planning, learning and development and HR compliance, ensuring the organisation continues to meet the highest professional and regulatory standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and manage the full employee lifecycle.
- Provide professional HR advice and support to senior leaders and Registered Managers.
- Lead and oversee safer recruitment processes.
- Manage DBS, right-to-work, references, qualification and employment checks.
- Manage complex employee relations matters, including disciplinary, grievance, capability and performance cases.
- Support workforce planning and organisational development.
- Develop, review and implement HR policies and procedures.
- Identify training needs and support learning and development programmes.
- Monitor staff absence, performance and employee wellbeing.
- Support safeguarding processes and maintain appropriate employment records.
- Ensure compliance with employment legislation and relevant regulatory requirements.
- Prepare workforce information and documentation for Ofsted and other regulatory inspections.
- Promote employee engagement, retention and a positive organisational culture.
About You
We are looking for an experienced HR professional who can operate confidently at both a strategic and operational level. You will ideally have:
- Significant HR management experience.
- Strong knowledge of UK employment law.
- Experience managing complex employee relations cases.
- Experience in safer recruitment.
- Experience within childrens social care, fostering, education, healthcare or another regulated care environment.
- Strong understanding of safeguarding and compliance.
- Excellent communication, influencing and leadership skills.
- Experience developing HR policies and procedures.
- Strong organisational and problem-solving abilities.
- A CIPD qualification or equivalent HR experience would be desirable.
- Experience supporting Ofsted-regulated services would be advantageous.
