Waking Nights | Full-time - 4 on, 4 off. Shift hours are 7.30pm to 8am.

Salary: £30,****** (based on a *****-hour average calendar week)

This is a rewarding opportunity for a compassionate and resilient Waking Night Project Worker to play a key role in supporting residents overnight, ensuring safety, wellbeing, and stability within a supported accommodation setting.

The Role

As a Waking Night Project Worker, you will provide overnight support to residents, maintaining a safe and secure environment while offering practical and emotional assistance as required. You will work closely with day staff and external agencies to ensure continuity of care and effective risk management.

Key Responsibilities

  • Participate in handovers with day staff at the start and end of each shift
  • Maintain the safety and security of residents, staff, and the building overnight
  • Carry out regular welfare and building checks throughout the night
  • Respond appropriately to incidents and record them accurately
  • Support residents with health, wellbeing, and immediate needs overnight
  • Complete and update risk and needs assessments following incidents or new admissions
  • Handle telephone enquiries, including referral-related calls, and maintain accurate logs
  • Work collaboratively with external agencies such as police, health services, and local partners
  • Encourage resident engagement, participation, and positive behaviour
  • Maintain accurate records and contribute to service reporting and data collection
  • Work in line with safeguarding, health safety, and organisational policies at all times

About You

  • Experience working with vulnerable adults, homelessness, or supported housing is desirable
  • A calm, professional approach with the ability to manage challenging situations
  • Strong communication and record-keeping skills
  • Understanding of safeguarding principles and risk management
  • Ability to work independently during night shifts
  • Flexible and reliable, with a commitment to person-centred support

  • This role is subject to an Enhanced DBS check
  • Ongoing training and development will be provided
