About the Role
As a Senior Support Worker, you'll play an important role in supporting children and young people with emotional and behavioural needs within a nurturing, family-style residential home. Alongside providing high-quality care, you'll support and guide staff on shift, ensuring the highest standards of care are maintained while helping young people build confidence, independence and positive life experiences.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Supporting young people with daily routines, education and activities
- Leading and motivating staff during shifts
- Promoting positive outcomes and individualised care
- Building trusting relationships with children and young people
- Completing and updating care plans and daily records
- Supporting emotional wellbeing and positive behaviour
- Planning fun and engaging activities both in the home and community
- Maintaining accurate electronic care records
- Working closely with the management team to ensure outstanding care standards

The service is a warm, welcoming residential home providing care for children and young people with emotional and behavioural needs. The focus is on creating a genuine family environment where young people feel safe, respected and encouraged to achieve their personal, educational and social goals. Staff work collaboratively to promote independence, resilience and positive outcomes through meaningful relationships and engaging activities.
What We're Looking For
We're looking for compassionate individuals who genuinely want to make a difference. Ideally, you'll have:
- Experience supporting children or young people (residential experience desirable)
- A caring, patient and resilient approach
- Excellent communication and leadership skills
- A willingness to work towards a Level 3 Diploma in Children's Residential Care (if not already achieved)
- A full UK manual driving licence (essential)
- Flexibility to work shifts, including sleep-ins
