P4 Recruitment are proud to be working in partnership with You Matter to recruit a compassionate and dedicated Day Support Worker to support their vital services across the Liverpool City Region. For over 180 years, You Matter has been supporting people through some of life’s hardest moments. They work with individuals when life feels unstable, overwhelming or uncertain, providing safe homes and support that always begins with listening. Their services cover homelessness, mental health, addiction and domestic abuse complex and often overlapping challenges. The people they support are often at their lowest point, struggling to find hope. You Matter helps them rediscover their strengths, rebuild confidence, and believe in a more positive future.
The Role
As a Day Support Worker, you will work directly with individuals to provide practical and emotional support, helping them move towards greater independence. You’ll build positive relationships, empower residents, and support them in achieving their personal goals.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide day-to-day support to residents within supported accommodation or community settings
- Build trusting, professional relationships and act as a key worker where required
- Support individuals to access services, appointments, education, training or employment
- Assist with developing life skills such as budgeting, cooking and tenancy management
- Deliver person-centred support in line with individual support plans
- Maintain accurate records, support plans and risk assessments
- Promote safeguarding, wellbeing and positive outcomes
- Manage and de-escalate challenging behaviours in a calm and supportive manner
About You:
- Experience in homelessness, mental health, addiction or a related field is desirable
- Passion for supporting people to achieve independence and positive change
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to manage a caseload and work both independently and as part of a team
- A compassionate, non-judgemental approach
- Understanding of safeguarding and professional boundaries
