Service Leader – Extra Care
Huyton | £32507 per annum | Permanent | 37.5 hours per week
P4 Recruitment are currently supporting a well-established organisation to recruit an experienced Service Leader to oversee a specialist Extra Care service in Huyton.
This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced care professional who is ready to take ownership of a service, lead a team and make a genuine difference to the people being supported.
Working closely with the Regional Manager, you will have responsibility for the day-to-day management of the service, ensuring high standards of support, strong team performance and a positive experience for the people who live there.
About the Service
The service provides Extra Care support to adults with a range of needs, including:
- Learning disabilities
- Mental health needs
- Age-related needs
- Dementia
- Complex and changing support needs
You will be responsible for ensuring that support remains person-centred, safe, respectful and outcome-focused, while creating an environment where both the people supported and the staff team can thrive.
The Role
As Service Leader, you will take responsibility for the effective running of the service and the leadership of the support team.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Leading, managing and developing a team of Support Workers
- Managing rotas and ensuring appropriate staffing levels
- Conducting regular supervisions, appraisals and performance management
- Supporting recruitment, induction and ongoing development of staff
- Ensuring high-quality, person-centred support is consistently delivered
- Taking responsibility for safeguarding concerns and ensuring appropriate action is taken
- Maintaining compliance with CQC regulations, policies and procedures
- Overseeing health & safety across the service
- Managing day-to-day operational requirements and service administration
- Supporting budget management and effective use of resources
- Completing audits, reports and quality monitoring
- Working closely with families, social workers, healthcare professionals and other external agencies
- Responding to incidents and ensuring appropriate records and actions are maintained
- Promoting a positive culture of inclusion, dignity, independence and choice
- Working closely with the Regional Manager to identify opportunities for continuous improvement
About You
We are looking for an experienced care leader who can demonstrate strong operational and people-management skills.
You will ideally have:
- Level 5 qualification in Health & Social Care, or equivalent or Minimum of Level 4
- Previous experience managing or leading an adult social care service
- Experience within Extra Care, Supported Living, Learning Disabilities, Mental Health, Dementia or similar services
- Strong understanding of CQC requirements and regulatory compliance
- Experience managing and developing a team
- Experience with rotas, supervisions, audits, safeguarding and performance management
- Excellent communication and organisational skills
- A genuine commitment to person-centred support
- The confidence to make decisions, manage challenges and take ownership of a service
- A valid UK driving licence is preferred, but not essential
