We are proactive and passionate about planning… and also about great people. You too? Join our team. P4 Planning is an independent planning consultancy based in Castlefield at the edge of Manchester city centre. We are seeking a proactive town planner to help our clients successfully navigate the planning system. We are a small, close-knit team who love what we do. We work with people we like, we are proud of our work, and like to stay on the front foot.
Great town planning takes tenacity, inclusivity, flexibility, and some good commercial know-how ways of working that we value highly. We take responsibility for the impact we have through our work and expect the same of everyone we work with.
We are looking for an experienced, chartered or close to chartership town planner, who is looking for a role to accelerate their career with opportunities arising from working closely alongside experienced Directors on a wide range and diversity of projects across the UK. We love to see people that get excited about planning policy and are practical about implementing it. Solid commercial awareness coupled with excellent knowledge of current and emerging planning legislation are a must. We value a strong work ethic, integrity, and honesty. Good communication is key, both for building client and team relationships and in your writing skills. And we encourage career-long learning – there’s always something new to learn.
We work with many fantastic clients across the UK including major developers and pension funds. We work on a variety of challenging projects, often in sensitive locations at all stages of the development process. We are well versed with heritage and environmental planning and work on large and small-scale projects, from university masterplans and city centre regeneration to smaller, technically challenging sites, such as redevelopment in the Green Belt. We are a tight knit team of planners that continues to punch above our weight – something which has consistently been recognised by the industry over the last few years through various awards and nominations. We are selective with and look to build long-standing relationships based on trust and shared values. We have made a conscious decision to remain independent and focus our efforts purely on helping navigate the complex planning system. We like to take a convoluted set of issues and pull out the most significant planning considerations – to apply the judgement that comes with experience and critical thinking to deliver better places across the UK.
We work hard to keep salaries competitive, with a contributory pension and discretionary bonus. Other benefits include a phone allowance, training budget and CPD, payment of professional membership, cycle to work scheme, season ticket loan, and a range of perks and discounts.
